NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN EASTERN LAMPASAS COUNTY (Grades K-5)
Lampasas ISD has completed a $9 million elementary school that can hold approximately 650-students. The new Taylor Creek Elementary School is located on Big Divide road on a site that is inside Lampasas county and near the growing city of Copperas Cove and Kempner. The Kempner area includes a very large number of acreage subdivisions. Last year the Lampasas county voters, approved the school project as part of a larger $48.9 million bond package. This will benefit many children living inside the east side of Lampasas county because they no longer will have to be transported 15 miles west into the city of Lampasas to go to school. This new elementary school is about 65,000 square feet and includes 26 classrooms, two computer labs, a fine arts facility, library, and a gym. The first school year for Taylor Creek will be the 2009-2010 school year.

Kline Whitis Elementary (PK -5) and Hanna Springs Elementary (K-5) have both undergone new additions and renovations.

NEW LAMPASAS HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING (GRADES 9-12) SET TO OPEN AUGUST 2009The beautiful new 1,600-student campus is being completed on 88 acres of donated land just south of town on U.S. Highway 281. It proudly sits high on a Texas hill overlooking the lovely Lampasas area.  Construction for the new building is said to be on schedule.

The "old" high school building has been renovated to accomodate the Middle School (6-8).
